FREE CONCERT featuring the North Coast Concert Band

John Kustec, conductor of the North Coast Concert BandThe Sandusky Concert Association is pleased to present a FREE concert from a band composed of local musicians!

The North Coast Concert Band was established in 1983 (at Fremont Ross High School). The stated purpose of the band is

  • To contribute positively to the musical environment of the area it serves;
  • To provide opportunity for individual musical expression and growth among its membership;
  • To provide opportunity for contact among musicians of advanced proficiency;
  • To reconfirm the Community Concert Band position in American music

The North Coast Concert Band currently has some 85 members who range in age from 22 to 95 and who hail from a variety of backgrounds and communities.

This concert event will feature a familiar name to many in our area: John Kustec, who is one of two directors of the North Coast Concert Band. Mr. Kustec recently retired as the band director at Perkins High School (he also taught at St. Mary's Central Catholic High School). He has been involved with the North Coast Concert band since its very first rehearsal where he played the oboe.
