...was formed as a civic music group in 1928. With the exception of four years during the Great Depression, the Concert Association pursued its mission: To sponsor, present, and promote interest in professional music events of a classical, semi-classical, or light pop nature; and to provide related educational opportunities to the community.
In 1958, the Sandusky Concert Association joined the Columbia Community Concerts Assocation. In 1968, the Sandusky Concert Association became an independent entity. Once known as Community Concerts, the Association was incorporated in 1980 as the Sandusky Concert Association.
Over the years, the Sandusky Concert Association has presented such prestigious musical talents as cellist YoYo Ma, and has sponsored a variety of events from orchestras to glee clubs, and from brass bands to dance performances.
